«Je me souviens encore de la cinématographie comme d'une expérience formidable. Le directeur de la photographie Boguś Godfrejów a tiré de sa main, s'est approché avec la caméra très proche. C'est une approche d'art et d'essai, l'atmosphère intimiste sur le plateau était la meilleure introduction au cinéma que je venais d'apprendre. Tout en essayant, j'avais peur de l'appareil photo, je le fuyais, mais après quelques jours de travail, je l'ai complètement oublié. Et puis la machine a démarré. J'ai obtenu un prix à Gdynia. Dans ce rôle, j'ai été vu par Małgosia Szumowska, Marcin Wrona ou Paweł Pawlikowski, qui des années plus tard m'ont invité à leurs projets.

« Sur scène, la distance au public est grande et ne change pas. Dans le film, en revanche, il y a une extrême proximité. Une telle proximité est-elle parfois désagréable ?

 

Cela dépend de la personne qui tient l'appareil photo. Il y a ceux qui s'approchent désagréablement de vous ou qui prennent trop de place avec leur personnalité. Puis il y a ceux qui servent la matière, comme je pense aussi le faire. Et puis il y en a avec qui vous pouvez littéralement vous connecter, faire un pacte secret. Avec Bogumil Godfrejów au "Requiem", j'avais le sentiment que je pouvais tout lui montrer. Il voit aussi tout. C'est la première fois que j'ai eu l'impression d'être un allié.
